Cast and Crew

Jen Laws
Chorus Leader
Artsci ’15, Drama/English
Other productions at Queens: Oh god, when am I /not/ on a show?
Why did you decide to attend college? I wasn’t going to right after high school, but then I found out I could go to England for my first year… and who doesn’t want to do that?
If you were re-born as an animal, what would you want to be? A fox.
A silly social media post/quote/whatever: We didn’t have 20 candles, so I put 3 candles on the cake and held one up to the birthday girl and made her blow it out 17 times.

Gabby Schachter
Stage Manager
Artsci ’15, Politics/English
Hey all, my name is Gaby Schachter and I am the stage-manager for our version of the play "Casina." I'm a third year politics major English minor. I haven't acted since I was 8 years old, so luckily you'll all be spared. Hope you come out and enjoy our version of Casina!

Nikki Morrison
Actress: Olympia
Artsci '15, Classics
Nikki was bitten by the acting bug at a young age: From singing in the school choir, to staging skits in class, to roles in productions of Annie and Aladdin, wherever her family’s travels took her she was ready to perform. Upon entering high school in the fall of 2007, Nikki began studying drama and later that school year she became a founding member of her schools Improv team. During grade 10 she continued to hone her acting skills as a key member of the Improv team and earned the Drama Award for achievements in class. Nikki also collaborated with her classmates to write and perform Street Stories, an exploration of the plight of the homeless, which was featured in an article in the Toronto Star. Ultimately, this contributed to the launch of the Homeless Hub curriculum, which was used to enlighten students about homelessness. In her grade 11 year, Nikki starred as Maureen in her high school’s production of Rent, and showed off her musical skills. In her grade 12 year Nikki worked with her fellow drama students to participate in the Sears Festival and won a merit for her acting in “The Kissing Scene.” Right now Nikki is back for her third year at Queens University where she is continuing with her major is Classical Studies.
Her favourite colour is: periwinkle
Her favourite classical joke is: “A Roman walks into a bar, holds up two fingers, and says ”Five beers, please.”

Andy Songwise
Stage Manager
Artsci '14 Lifesci/Classics
Good morning/afternoon/evening, my name is Andy Song and I'm one of the stage managers for the roman comedy group presenting Casina! I'm a 4th year here at Queen's, I hail from Nova Scotia, and in my free time I like to hang out with friends or watch many episodes of New Girl.
One of my favourite jokes:
What did one street light say to the other street light?
Don't look I'm changing!
You're welcome.

Lindsey Kaplan
Actress: Cleostrate
Artsci '14 Classics
My name is Lindsey Kaplan and i am a 4th year classics major from Toronto. I am very excited to be playing the part of Cleostrate in Casina. I am very excited to be taking part in this performance and hope to put on a great show for you all!

Darcye Lovsin
Set/Costume Designer
Artsci '15 Classics
Well hello everyone! I’m a 3rd year classics major and I am the set designer for Casina. I am also living proof that bad things DO come in threes. This past winter I managed to not only break my arm, but 36 hours later I was back in the hospital with appendicitis. To re-cap, I was still wearing one hospital bracelet when they put on the second one… Oh, and there was a third bad thing I promise, but I can’t reveal all my secrets on the Internet.
Fun facts about me:
-I’m tall
-I think I’m funnier then I actually am
-I cried when I turned 20
-I suffer from heavy FOMO

Mina Moutsatos
Actress: Chalinus
Artsci '15 Classics
My name is Mina Moutsatsos, and I’m currently in 3rd year as a Classics Major. Some fun facts about me: If I had to pick my epitaph now, I’d probably have it say “Died from not forwarding that email to ten people.” Because honestly, was there anything ever more terrifying as a 90’s kid?! The dumbest/ proudest moment of my life was when I ate a whole pizza an hour before going to all-you-can eat sushi. Needless to say, the day ended with me lying in my bed struggling to digest copius amounts of rice and dough. I regret nothing, however.
One of my favourite quotes of all time has to be from Paris Hilton:“Love me or hate me, it’s still an obsession.” It’s so positive… kind of along the lines of Miley Cyrus’ “Forget the haterz, because somebody loves ya”. Just live your life, ya know?

Marena Bray
Extra/Actress
Artsci '15 English/Classics
Hey everyone, just your regular book worm over here!
My affinities: not acting (oops! - let's see how this play pans out!)
My special talents: binge-watching Netflix, being a world-class procrastinator and eating carbs! Something you didn't know about me: I hate fruit, all fruit, doesn't matter what it is. Yes, I know, I'm weird. Looking forward to working with my fellow peers to bring you our version of "Casina"!

Samantha Purvis-Johnston
Producer
Artsci '14 Art History/Classics
Hello, I'm so excited to have the oppertunity to produce this play for everyone and hope to make it a fun experiance for both my cast/crew, and you the viewer! I've had so much fun learning more about my fellow cast and crew members so I guess I'll let everyone konw a little about me too.
Things I like to do, but not well at all: I can't wistle, but I try. I'm a terrible singer and I torture my co-workers on the daily but if I know the words, they're coming out!
Drama experiance: I took drama all throughout highschool and completely loved the community it provided. Unfortunatly I've left my Drama family behind since, but carried much confidence from them throughout my University career. As aforementioned, I am so glad to be able to now have the oppertunity to perform behind the stage as oppose to the dreadful task of memorizing lines.
Favourite Jokes/Fail: Honestly, you could tell me a joke and I'm the one who forgets it within 30 seconds.
These are a few of my favourite things: Coffee, art, my Wabby, Gilmore Girls, Thai and Japanese food, making crafts, Christmas shopping, Fall, crunchy leaves, Halloween (everything about Halloween), Thanksgiving (Just anything that happens in October, really), panda bears, dogs (well really, I love any animal, just not birds...I hate birds), and musical (and regular people music too).

Michael Sullivan
Actor: Lysidamus
Artsci '14 Classics
Hi my name is Michael Sullivan, my love for theatre began as a small child when I was cast in my first part, Snoopy in Snoopy vs. The Red Baron. To satisfy my craving for theatre I reg-ail in the works of such epic play writes as Aristophanes, Sophicles and Plautus. Who truly is Michael Sullivan you ask? Well, my ideal date would include taking a long walk in the rain, while singing Barry Manilow tunes. My friends say I am a Carrie, but I like to think of myself as a mixture of Charolette and Samantha, Sassy, yet sweet. I hope you enjoy our rendition of Casina, I look forward to seeing you all on April 4th!!!
